The Earth is alive. We know this. Her name is Gaia. We know this too.
While eating my fruit salad this morning with organic vanilla yogurt this morning [Nancy’s brand] I had an epiphany.
The thought came to me in regards to the weather on earth, that she, Gaia, is doing all of this for the good of all. The weather seems to affect us so much, but we, as humans tend to focus so clearly on how the weather affects us only.
Did you ever stop to think, as I did today, that the weather is not for us. It is for every living thing on Gaia. She is aware of how the wind, the rain, the clouds, the sunshine, the snow affects ALL parts of her.
She knows what she needs and when. She knows what she is doing. Even the earthquakes and the Tsunamis, all of the “disasters” that affect us negatively, are simply ways of her changing and growing.
We are after all just residing on her skin. Her surface is our home and even though some live on water, we are still only on the surface of her, held by gravity.
I believe She is aware of our presence and even thought this is true, she knows that her well-being is priority.
She has to make sure the trees, the birds, the plants and animals are ok. They are all a network crucial for her survival. She doesn’t really need us to live. She hold us close and loves us but like a good mother knows to feed herself and take care of herself so she CAN take care of her children.
However, if you become mindful, you can witness her caring for herself. She loves herself so much that she brings the winds, the rain, the clouds and the sunshine at just the right time and in just the right way to make sure she is well and warm and happily growing her own self-supporting sustenance.
The best thing we can do is honor this. She would appreciate it if we became more aware of all she DOES do and honor and respect her for this. She is after all, our Divine Mother, and without her we could not live.
